MEC Cares

Multack Eye Care is passionate about the care we provide to all of our patients. We are dedicated to our community, especially those less fortunate who may not be able to afford vision care. In 2019, Dr. Multack established MEC Cares, a nonprofit organization, to preserve and improve vision, for low-income patients or patients in need.

MEC Cares donate their surgeons and clinic professionals time and skills to perform cataract eye surgeries at no cost for patients in need from our community.

For people diagnosed with cataracts who are living at or below the poverty level, the medical attention they desperately need can be out of reach. MEC Cares mission is to support and serve those individuals by delivering cost-free, sight-saving surgery.

MEC Cares adheres to the following application guidelines to ensure that the greatest community needs are being met:

  • The income of applicants must fall within the current year’s U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services federal poverty guidelines.
  • Applicants must not have health insurance and may not be enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid.
  • Those applying need to be diagnosed and in need of cataract surgery.
  • To be considered, a financial screening application with documentation must be submitted.
  • This is a needs-based program that operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • There are a limited number of spots, so you shouldn’t wait to contact us.

While cataracts are the most common condition treated through this program, other surgically treatable eye conditions may be eligible as well. If you would like to be considered for participation in MEC CARES, please Request an Appointment today!

Multack Eye Care has always been big on giving back to the community as well as those less fortunate.  Paying it forward is something we live by and teach. To name some of the donations and charities we regularly give back to are:

  • Eye Care America
  • Women’s domestic violence shelters
  • JDRF Foundation
  • Multiple Sclerosis Foundation
  • Children’s athletic teams
  • Local School charities
  • Veteran associated local charities
  • Morning Star Donations
  • Ronald McDonald House
  • Murph Challenge
  • Wounded Warrior Foundation
  • Local Animal Shelters, PAW’s, NAW’s, ect.
  • Recycled Rott’s
  • Participating in national collaborative research studies
  • Publishing original research papers
  • Subspecialty training of post graduate physicians

MEC Cares and Multack Eye Care hopes to reach and help as many lives as we can to show our gratitude to all our patients and those in our community.  To give back and pay it forward is one small way we can do this. We want everyone to see the difference we are trying to make!
